Lice Free 1-2-3 is Here!
Lice Clinics Of America – Maryland

November is ‘No-Lice November’ here at Lice Clinics of Maryland.
Chief facilities manager, Sally Dent, wants to share our Lice-Free 1-2-3 message this month.
“We make dealing with head lice as simple as 1-2-3,” she said.
Here’s what’s involved:
1) Get checked.
2) If you have lice, you can be lice-free in an hour, and
3) If you don’t have lice, use prevention products to keep them away.
“And to help make that as easy as 1-2-3, we’re also offering special promotions this month,” Dent said.
Specifically, those are:
1) $20 professional screening
2) $20 credit if lice are found, and we treat you, and
3) 20% discounts on our prevention products
(Note: You must mention this blog post before payment is finalized in order obtain the reduced fees.)
Fall and winter are peak lice seasons, according to Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions, and the year-over-year records show that visits to our three Maryland clinics (located in Bel Air, Baltimore and Rockville) attest support that statement.
“Head lice spread more during the holidays because as families celebrate, kids are spending more time together, sleeping over more, and hugging more,” Sally said. “I tell parents that the holidays are stressful enough. You don’t want to deal with head lice on top of everything else.”
The stress of dealing with head lice is even worse these days with the arrival of so-called “super lice.” They are lice that are immune to the pesticides used in the most popular lice treatment products.
Research conducted in 2016 and published in the Journal of Medical Entomology found that 98% of lice in 42 states have developed genetic resistance to pyrethroids, the class of pesticides used in traditional lice products. Furthermore, pyrethroids are linked to health problems in children, not to mention often being ineffective. “We see families every day that have tried and failed to get rid of head lice with traditional products,” Dent said. “Many folks have spent weeks combing and nitpicking. It becomes so frustrating for parents and children alike.”
Lice Clinics of Maryland is the exclusive provider in our area of a head lice treatment that features the pesticide-free, FDA-cleared AirAllé®medical device. Developed by researchers at the University of Utah, the AirAllé device incorporates carefully controlled heated air to quickly dehydrate the bugs. In clinical trials, the process killed live lice and more than 99 percent of eggs (nits).
Certified technicians deliver the treatment, and the entire process takes about an hour and is guaranteed to work.
And yes, the AirAllé treatment is just as effective in dealing with “super lice.” The process has been used to treat more than 1 million cases of head lice in more than 30 countries, with a success rate better than 99 percent,” Dent said. “If you, your child or your whole family has lice, rest assured, we can make you all lice-free in just one visit, guaranteed.”
Lice Clinics of Maryland also offers non-toxic preventive sprays, shampoos, and conditioners that act as a lice repellent. The active ingredient is not a pesticide. It is a solution that smells perfectly fine to humans but is obnoxious to head lice. Head lice tend to steer clear of hair treated with our preventive products.
